Go Karts for Sale

Wow – even the word ‘go kart’ is bound to have you thinking about some wonderful childhood memories. Remember what it was like? Being a kid and having your very own vehicle. Made you feel like the king (or queen) of the world – whatever type of gokart you had.
And one of the most fun aspects of go kart ownership today is that not only can your kids experience the same joy you did – but as an adult you can join in as well!
Browsing through the many different types of go karts for sale is sure to bring with it a large dose of nostalgia. With companies like InSTEP and American Retro Go Karts for Saleproducing the most darling kid’s go karts you could ever wish to see, you’ll be forgiven for wishing you were still small enough to squeeze into one of their police cars, fire trucks or airplanes.

Go Karts for Adults

But then, when you start to look at some of the other manufacturer’s ranges – such as Berg Toys or ScooterX - you start to realize that go karts suddenly grew up! No longer simply the toy for pre and school age children, go karting is cool for adults as well. And don’t just take our word for it, because go kart racing – both the pedal cart type and motorized – are now serious sports. And the great thing is that you don’t need a whole bunch of experience (or thousands of dollars of disposable income) to get involved.

Off-roading Go Karts

Life takes on a whole new meaning when your body’s only a couple of inches from the ground. Experience the thrill of hair-raising speeds as you steer your cart along road, field and even mountain tracks when you start to get more advanced. And add in the possibility of gas-powered go karts and you start to talk serious speed. Forget Formula 1 – the adrenaline rush you get from go karting is far more primeval and raw.

Go Kart Safety

So, what should you look for in a quality cart? Looking through all the go karts for sale can leave you a little flummoxed as to exactly what you should be looking for. After all, every manufacturer wants to tell you their products are the best. So make sure you check out all the following before you commit to any purchase and sign on the dotted line:

• Does the company have a good length track record of selling good quality go karts? For example, Berg Toys have been in the business for over a quarter of a century. See more about the go karts offered by Berg Toys here (link)
• Does the company specify that all components of its go karts undergo rigorous safety testing and conform to USA standards? Remember, go karts go have a tough life – even if your child is only pedaling up and down the street. They need to be sturdy and rugged enough to cope with all the rough and tumble play that’s inflicted upon them. Only that way can you guarantee your child’s safety (and your own, in the case of adult go karts).
• What is the warranty offered? This should cover both the unit itself and the various parts that suffer wear and tear.
• Especially important in the case of children’s go karts – is the paint and all parts used guaranteed to be toxic free?
• What is the weight limit? Important for both adults and children’s go karts. Make sure you allow for the rapid rate at which kids grow – after all, you don’t want to make a purchase, only to find that your child’s outgrown their cart in a matter of a couple of months.
• What about spare parts and repair? It goes without saying that go karts have moving parts and these will wear with time. Does the manufacturer offer any kind of availability to purchase these parts or have recommended maintenance dealers?

As you can see, there are quite a few things to take into account when looking for the perfect go kart. What you should do is to view your purchase not only as a toy, but as a vehicle that needs to be sturdy enough to protect the user – in much the same way as you would when purchasing a car.

Gas Powered Go Karts for Sale

And if you’re looking at gas powered go karts for sale, well, the safety aspects become even more vital. Basic models can reach speeds of up to 45 mph!!! And while that might not sound very fast when you’re in a car – believe us when we tell you that speeds such as these when you’re literally sitting at ground level will feel like you’re travelling at the speed of light. As you become more experienced – and be aware that go kart racing has a fast-progressing learning curve – you’re very likely to want to be able to adapt your cart to improve performance. So whilst entry level carts are great to start with, it won’t be long before you’ll be wanting to up-grade. Because of this it’s vital to know that the go kart you choose offers you that flexibility.

Go Kart Manufacturers

• Get in Shape for Competitive Go Karting

So you’ve marked out your perfect purchase from the many different go karts for sale. You’ve got visions of how much fun you’re going to have every weekend when you take your kart to the track. So what ealse can you do to ensure that your competitive karting career (however part time it might be), is as successful as possible?

Well, you could invest a few hundred dollars into some pro-training, or – and this might be a far more satisfactory option – you could put in some self-training without it costing you one extra red cent.

The visualization technique.

Ever wondered why many professional racing drivers have mirrored visors on their helmets? They use these so that they can shut themselves away in their own private world before the race begins. And it’s during these precious few minutes that they visualize exactly what it is that they want to achieve during the race. Concentrating on the start of the race – as that’s what about to occur – is a powerful way of focusing your attention and driving all other thoughts out of your mind.

Fitness training

Okay, so we’re not suggesting that you need to spend hours per week at the local gym (although if that’s what you enjoy, then go for it.) But some advantageous exercise includes working on your upper body strength and your stamina. Good kinds of exercise to undertake could include martial arts, biking, running and/or pushing weights.

Watch your diet

You’re as healthy as what you eat, so you do need to take care as to the types of nutrition you put inside your body. We’ve all been so accustomed to thinking that there are many “healthy” food options available to us. But most of these are anything but healthy. As a general rule, you should try to eat food that’s as close to its natural form as possible. Keep away from anything that comes in a box or a packet, as this usually means it’s been processed. And processed food is one of the biggest dietary issues of our modern world. It’s a challenge, that’s for sure, but not only will eating correctly help your karting efforts, but it’ll make you feel better as well.

Enjoy your sport

One powerful training aid that most guides seem to miss out is the importance of having fun. After all, you bought your go kart to enjoy yourself, not sign yourself up to a whole load of rules. Of course, if you become more serious about go kart racing you will find yourself naturally training harder and taking nutrition more seriously. But this should also be a means to enjoying yourself further – and winning those all-important races.

For most of us, when we’re stood pondering the many different go karts for sale, the last thing we’ll be thinking about is whether or not we should really have that portion of French fries with our steak. However, we feel it’s only right that we should point out quite how addictive karting is. One moment you’re buying your first kart, the next you’ll find you’re calendar’s full up with the season’s races and you’re down the gym three times a week, getting fit and ready to beast all your fellow racers.

But whatever level you take your karting to, it’s all about enjoying yourself. So make sure you have fun and stay safe.…

• Go Karts and Braking

In the world of competitive, gas powered go kart racing, most people are thinking about the speed and acceleration. But braking is a vital part of successful racing, not to mention any type of kart usage. After all, any idiot can go fast, but it’s being in control that’ll make you both safe and win races.

One term you’ll hear used in competitive karting is “trail braking.” So what’s that all about then?

Trail braking

This is all about using your brakes in and around a corner. Trail braking is a maneuver that effectively prevents you from losing too much speed when coming out of a corner, so allowing you to travel through the bend as fast as possible.

The maneuver is all about applying your brakes at the last minute when taking a corner. You allow your kart to go deep into the corner, and apply the brakes at the last moment possible. The back end of the kart then slides around into the corner, allowing you to accelerate because your kart is already lined up and ready to head off fast down the next straight.

Now, this might sound pretty simple in theory. And indeed, once you manage to master the maneuver it can be a powerful technique to use. But it does take a little practice to get it right.

The difference between wet and dry tracks

There’s only one way to learn how your kart performs in different weather conditions, and that’s to test it to the max. Different go karts for sale behave in different manners in various conditions. Wet track conditions can strike fear into the heart of novice racers. What you need to do is learn how to take both high and low speed corners – both in the wet and the dry.

• Low Speed Corners – When the conditions are wet and you approach a low speed corner, your aim is to not allow the wheels of your kart to lock. Knowing when this is about to happen is something you can only learn by experience. It’s only by making mistakes (and probably lots of them) that you’ll become sensitive enough to being able to ease off the brake just before this occurs.
• High Speed Corners – In both the wet and dry, the key to high speed corners is to keep it smooth. The last thing you want to do is to make a drastic steering movement or a hard brake that will cause your wheels to spin.

Once you understand that learning how to brake successfully in all conditions is the most crucial element of your karting prowess, then you’re well on the way to improving your skills. As with anything, practice makes perfect. So get out there – whatever the weather – and practice as hard as you can.

It’s only by knowing the limits you can push that you’ll be able to get out there and own that track. So push your practice to the max, and reap all the benefits that it brings.…

• Go Karts for Sale – A Buyer’s Guide

Buying a pedal go kart might at first seem a simple purchase. And indeed it is – but it’s still necessary to know a little about what you’re looking for to make sure that your dollars are spent on the right model. After all, there are so many different go karts for sale that it can appear to be quite a challenge if you’re not sure what to look for.

So read on to find our buyers guide to purchasing a pedal go kart for your child.

• Most go karts for sale today have the same basic features. It’s the additional things, such as color, style and size that determine the price differences.
• Basic features include such things as a chain driven mechanism that make it easier to pedal and propel the kart forwards.
• Choose the right sized kart for your child. Different manufacturers have different ways of sizing their products, and these are usually determined by age and/or height. However, as kids come in all shapes and sizes, you should only take the manufacturers guidelines as just that. After all, one 6 year old differs a great deal in height, weight and size from another. Take the age range with a pinch of salt, and look more towards the height guidelines to ensure that you choose the right sized go kart for your child.
• Half of the fun of a child’s go kart is the color and style. The happier your child is with the look of the kart, the greater their confidence will be in using it.
• Most go karts for sale have adjustable seats. However, you’ll find one that can be adjusted without the need for any tools will be far easier to use. This is especially important if the go kart is to be used by more than one child.
• Some of the added extras that can be found include sports seats and some kind of impact absorption feature.
• One very important feature that you should ensure your go kart has is a freewheel facility. This basically means that if your child stops pedaling, for whatever reason, that the pedals don’t continue to go around. Not only does this allow the child to have a forward or backward motion, but it means that they have full control over the pedals, making for a much more enjoyable ride.
• Make sure you choose a go kart that has minimum assembly necessary. There’s nothing worse than taking stock of your child’s new plaything, only to realize that you need a degree in rocket science to put the thing together.
• Buy a go kart from a reputable maker. There are plenty on the market that have been producing them for years. Buying from such a maker means you can rest assured that you’re purchasing a safe product, backed by rigorous safety standards and a manufacturer’s guarantee. Not to mention the fact that your child will have a safe and fun experience using their new toy.

• Go Karting Forums – A Community Spirit

Before you make your choice of model from the many different go karts of sale, you might want to pick the brains of other enthusiasts to aid your search. And whilst the best form of contact might be face to face, sometimes it can be a challenge to find others who might have the knowledge and enthusiasm to want to chat about go karting.

That’s where go kart forums are a great place to visit. An online community where like-minded people come together – sometimes from all over the world – to talk about their passion.

One thing’s for sure, people who love their karting also love to help others in their quest. And if you need to ask questions about go karts for sale, then a go kart forum is one of the best places to gain advice. Joining in on the various online discussions is a great way of finding out information and recommendations about which type of kart to buy. Sure, you can ask the sales people in your local go kart store – and you should – but getting as much information as possible from different sources is always a good thing.

If you’re still pondering over which model of go kart to choose, why not consider posing some questions on a go kart forum. You could ask people’s opinions on the following:

• What good and bad experience people have had with various different models of go karts.
• What are people’s favorite karts, and the reasons why.
• Recommendations for a first time purchase for a go karter of your level.
• Advice about storage, maintenance and any extras you might need to purchase.

Of course, you’ll probably have a whole bunch more questions that you’ll want to ask. And very often you can end up in a discussion with a whole host of helpful people. That’s what these online go kart forums are all about – bringing enthusiasts together to help each other out.

A cautionary tale

But we ought to mention one word of caution, in case you’re new to the world of online forums. Sadly, as in any walks of life, there tends to be the odd person who takes delight in trying to upset other people who’re just enjoying doing their thing. In internet speak, people such as these are called “trolls.” A troll is a person who probably has no interest in what the forum is about – in this case, go karts – but simply contributes to try and cause arguments and anger amongst those who are use the forum for genuine reasons.

If you come across such a person, – indeed, they might even reply to one of your posts – then the best way to deal with them is by ignoring them. Their whole reason of doing what they do is to get a reaction, so by refusing to give one then they’ll usually give up and go away.

And that then leaves you and the thousands of other genuine go kart forum users to get on with what really matters. And that’s discussing your karting.…

• Kids and Go Karting

Can there be any better sight than that of kids enjoying themselves in a go kart. And the fun actually starts before that, and begins with choosing the actual vehicle to buy from the hundreds of different types of go karts for sale.

Whether or not your child or children are involved in the actual picking of their go kart, the hunt is almost as much fun as actually getting the go kart home. And how many parents secretly enjoy shopping for presents without the kids around? It allows you that indulgent time of replaying your own childhood dreams in your head, safe in the knowledge that you’re doing it for your kid’s pleasure (not your own, of course.)

One of the great thing about go karting is that there are barely any boundaries. It can be enjoyed from a really early age. Pedal karts for kids are the perfect way to introduce them to the joys of go karts. And youngsters love them, especially now that you can find kids go karts for sale in all kinds of shapes and colors.

These include;

• Police cars
• Red fire trucks – complete with bells to clang
• Speedy racing cars
• Pink limousines (perfect for the little princess in your life)
• John Deere tractor colors
• 4 x 4 look alikes

And loads more that are far too numerous to mention.

When introducing your kids to go karting, don’t be tempted to get them a kart that’s above that which is suitable for their age and ability. The slower they start off, the more their confidence will grow. This will also improve the likelihood that they might want to take the sport further as they grow older.

It can be a challenge, especially if you enjoy racing go karts yourself, to settle for a slow pedal kart for your son or daughter. But far better this than purchasing a gas powered kart before they’re ready for it. After all, the average age level for kids to race gas powered karts is usually 12 and above (or older), so there’s no point in trying to force your six year old to learn how to drive before their time. They’ll be plenty of years ahead for that (and it’ll give you time to save up…)

Kids and go kart racing

Of course, the time may well come when the kids get older and they start to crave a little more speed. You’ll find a great selection of kids gas powered go karts for sale, and the choice gets larger every year. Once again, only purchase a go kart of a suitable level for them to start with. There’s plenty of time ahead to be able to tweak and increase the horse power of their kart. But allowing a child to get to grips with a smaller gas powered engine to start off with is the key to continued enjoyment.

Who knows, this could be the first step to a future formula one driver. Stranger things have happened, and it’s well known that go karting is the first step in most racing driver’s careers. Just take the time to enjoy each step along the way – from pedal kart right through to seeing your child step up onto the winner’s podium.

And that’s a moment when you might have to have some tissues at the ready, that’s for sure……

• Enhance your Karting Driver Performance

Apart from choosing the best go kart for sale that’ll suit the level of karting you want to do, there are plenty of other things you can do to enhance your individual performance.

• Get the best go kart equipment you can afford. Good quality kit is one of the singularly most important things you can have to improve your competitive edge. However, don’t make the mistake of thinking that you need to purchase the most expensive items to be in with a chance. Buy according to your ability, as well as your wallet.
• Get yourself in the best condition you can. Let’s face it – many of us have desk jobs, meaning we’re probably not as physically active as we could be. And if you’re carrying a few extra pounds as well, this all serves to slow your reaction time as well as your physical fitness.
• Carrying on from the above point, it’s been scientifically proven that the lower your fitness level, the less prepared you are for the stresses of race driving. During a go kart race, the average person’s pulse rate rises up to three times that of their resting rate. In a person who’s not physical fit, this causes what is known as “mind blackouts” – causing loss of concentration, albeit for just milliseconds at a time. This happens because an unfit body uses more oxygen under stress than a fitter body. So the fitter you are, the faster your racing reactions will be.
• Go kart racing puts your body under various stress and strains due to the G-forces involved. Strength training to allow your body to cope with these is the best way to ensure your best performance possible.
• Learn to watch your diet. And, no – we’re not telling you to give up all red meat and live like a rabbit! Just be sensible, and eat or drink nothing to excess. And in the 48 hours leading up to a race you should keep away from fatty foods – you know, all the stuff that’s particularly yummy, like bacon, chocolate, French fries, pizza etc. etc.
• Psyche yourself up for the moment. In other words, think positive and see yourself doing exactly what it is that you want to achieve. And positive thinking isn’t just some kind of mumbo jumbo that you read in self-help books. It’s been scientifically proven that the power of thinking yourself towards success actually does work. And if you still need more convincing, how come is it that people who are constantly expecting something bad to happen inevitable have it happen to them? Whereas those with a naturally sunny personality tend to attract what many perceive as good luck.

After all, when your first started considering your purchase and drooling over all the go karts for sale in magazines and on the internet, you weren’t thinking about losing a race. You were thinking about the fun and good times you were going to have. So recreate that initial enthusiasm in your head, and advance it by thinking yourself towards your goals.…

Of course, be expected to be bitten by the karting bug, because go karting is seriously addicted. Once you’ve had the fun of a few arrive and drive days, it’s fairly likely that you’ll start looking at the various go karts for sale – because there’s nothing like having your own.

New or Used?

There are two options when looking at go karts for sale. You either go to a dealer and purchase one new – and get the various warranties and after sales service that you’d expect from going down this route, or you purchase one second hand. Actually, many dealers offer used go karts for sale as well, and these should also come with some kind of warranty.

Whichever route you choose to purchase a go kart, it pays to do your research and perhaps try out various different models before you part with your hard earned cash. And remember to purchase a kart that’s suitable for your current standard, rather than buying something that’s too advanced. You can always upgrade once you get more experienced.…

• Go Kart Wheels – A Tiring Subject

Did you know that when racing go karts you need to have different tires according to the weather conditions? Exactly the same as with Formula 1,2 and 3 racing, what’s beneath you and the ground below as you speed along is exactly what keeps your kart safely on four wheels through those tight bends and hard acceleration.

When looking at racing go karts for sale you’ll find that the cheaper ones generally come with one set of tires, and the more expensive might come with more.

So, what are the different types of go kart tires and what are the conditions to use them in?

• Slicks. These are the smooth tires that are used when the weather is fine and the track is dry. The idea of slick tires is that they have as much contact with the track surface as possible, allowing maximum grip and a very precise center of gravity for you and your kart. Both of these factors come together to ensure that your kart sticks firmly to the track and allows you to take corners fast and accelerate at full power.

The tread of slicks is made from a thin layer of rubber, along with various other compounds. Depending on what these are will determine whether the tire has a high resistance to wear or a higher level of grip.

• Rains. As the name suggests, these are the tires you’d use when the track is wet. Specifically designed to give you more grip in the rain, these tires are grooved to help reduce the amount of surface contact between the tire and the track. Apart from these grooves they are constructed in the same way as slicks, meaning that depending on the compound used they can have higher grip or higher resistance.

There are many different makers of tires. These include Dunlop, Bridgestone and Mojo. You’ll find most high end traders of go karts for sale will be able to provide you with a good range of tires. As you get more experienced you’ll get to know when your tires need to be changed. You get to “feel” as they wear – cornering won’t be as smooth and you’ll get the feeling that the kart just isn’t sticking to the track quite so well.

Experience is the key, and the more you race the better you’ll get at knowing when your tires need changing.…

• Go Karting – A Head for Safety

No one can deny that searching for your first (or subsequent) go kart for sale is an exciting time. Whether it’s a purchase for the smallest members of your family or a super duper gas powered monster to race, go karts offer a huge amount of fun to everyone involved.

When it comes to choosing from the huge amounts of go karts for sale it’s understandable that price comes into the equation. But one area that you should always buy the very best possible is when it comes to head protection. After all, you only have one head, so it’s essential to look after it.

What Type of Safety Helmet?

If you’re purchasing a pedal go kart for the kids to use, then a good quality cycle helmet should suffice. To check that it’s up to standard you need to make sure that it conforms to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and/or relevant Snell standard for this activity. There should be a label or some kind of marking on the helmet that shows it conforms.

For gas powered go karting then you need to ensure that you purchase a safety helmet specifically designed for this kind of karting or motorcycling. Once again it should be marked up with the relevant Snell standard.

Look After your Head, Look After your Helmet

Safety helmets are designed to withstand more than one moderate impact. However, because the protection provided by the helmet is only for a limited number of impacts, it should be replaced if there is any visible damage to the helmet. This might include a cracked shell or a crushed liner. You should also read the manufacturer’s instructions as to when a helmet should be replaced.

Fitting

How a helmet fits on your head will have a direct implication on how much protection it provides. It should fit snugly but also be comfortable when you’re wearing it. Don’t pull it down over your eyes or push it back too far on your head – it should be worn squarely at all times.

Once the helmet is on and firmly secured there should not be any great side to side or back to front movement. It should stay in place however much you move and shake your head. Adjust the straps – there are usually a few different adjustments – so that it fits firmly.

It doesn’t take a lot of effort to ensure that you’re protecting your (or the kids) head as much as possible. And it might just save your life.…

It’s competitive

Mind you, one thing to be aware of is that a go kart party can bring out the competitive spirit in the most mild mannered of people. After all, many people’s personalities change when they get behind the wheel of a car, so put them in that same situation, let alone on a real race track, and you can expect to see some serious moves being made.

Most go kart party venues let each person have a few trial laps, and will then run a kind of mini-grand prix. This will start with heats, and end up with a grand final and eventual overall winner. And don’t be surprised if that eventual winner happens to be a lady (if it’s a mixed sex party), because don’t ever labor under the misnomer that the fairer sex is less competitive.

Go karting parties are proving so popular that social events such as these is leading to many people taking up the sport more seriously, looking for their own go kart for sale and joining the many thousands who travel around the country taking part in the various different races available.

It’s Safe

When choosing where to have your go kart party, make sure that you chose a fully licensed and regulated place. There are national regulations, along with various local and regional ones as well, so look out for the various industry recognized standards that the venue should have displayed. By choosing such a venue you can be sure that the karts you’ll be driving will be regularly serviced and fully up to all the necessary safety standards.

It’s Fun

Once you’ve chosen your venue, invited your guests and arrived on the day, there’s only one thing left for you all to do. And that’s have an amazing time – which isn’t hard to do. Because karting is some of the best fun you can have with your clothes on! Enjoy…

One of the great things about go karting is that it’s a sport that all ages can enjoy. Sure – there’s the high octane thrill of petrol karting for adults, but for once this is a sport that even the youngest members of the family can take part in.

With pedal go karts for sale available in all shapes and sizes, and at prices that won’t break the bank, there’s nothing that’ll make your heart feel prouder than seeing your little angel happily at the seat of their very own red fire truck or pink limousine – with a big grin plastered from ear to ear…

Every go kart for sale you see advertised should, it goes without saying, have undergone rigorous safety checks and conform to the necessary safety standards. Because as we all know, there’s nothing more important than your children’s safety. Some reputable companies include such names as Berg, InStep and American Retro.

Of course, once the kids get a little older than they might well start clamoring for a kart with a little more speed and excitement (although put a pedal kart on a steep hill and they’ll be more than enough speed and excitement – especially for the concerned parent who can only watch helplessly from the sidelines…). But when it comes to karting, this is one entertainment that you can be almost guaranteed that every child will want to try. After all, what kid can resist having their first real driving experience in a motorized go kart?

Of course, don’t worry too much – because there are many venues that offer motorized go karting for kids in vehicles that are restricted to safe speeds. So don’t think that the kids are going to get in and have goodness knows how much horsepower sitting beneath their accelerator pedal. No – karting for kids, especially the young ones, is set up so that they have a great time – but in safety. And one thing’s for sure; you might have to coax the odd child into the driving seat to start off with, but we’ll put money on the fact that prizing them out at the end of the session will prove a darn site more difficult.

And you might well have the added problem afterwards of the kids wanting a motorized go kart of their own. If so, then don’t rush into buying the first kart you come across – because when it comes to gas or electric powered go karts for sale, there’s a huge variation in both choice and price. So do your research carefully.

Who knows, your child climbing behind the wheel of a go kart could prove to be the fledgling years of the next Michael Schumacher. Because every champion has to start somewhere……

Go Kart Puncture Prevention

Of course, it depends on what you’re doing with your go kart as to how great the chances are of a puncture. If you’re off roading or racing then punctures will be more common, but even if the kids are just pedaling down the road it’s still possible to get a flat.
There are things you can do to lessen the chance of your go kart getting a puncture, such as the following:
• Using tire sealant is a good method of helping prevent punctures. Not only does this help stop minor punctures developing in the first place, but if there are any tiny holes then it will fill these and prevent them from becoming worse.
• Nail punctures can be guarded against by fixing a specialized ‘nail guard’ to the tires.
• Weekly checks of the tires to make sure there’s nothing embedded into the wall that has already caused or is likely to cause damage to the tires.

Motorized Go Karts

Maintenance of motorized go karts is a slightly bigger issue. Various parts of the engine and movement will need maintaining on a regular basis – exactly as you would with a motor bike or any other vehicle with an engine.
The areas that need regular care are as follows:

• Chain
• Spark plugs
• Engine lubrication – i.e. the oil
• Brakes

You also need to be aware how to store a motorized go kart if it’s not going to be used for a period of 30 days or more. The fuel tank and carburetor will need to be drained and the engine cylinder lubricated.
For the mechanically minded person this is not a difficult job, but if you don’t feel confident carrying this out this work yourself then it’s advisable to seek professional help.
Go karting is fun for all ages – from the smallest of kids right up to adults (who, let’s face it, are probably the biggest kids of all!). By using your common sense and keeping your go kart well maintained, you can ensure that your karting fun remains just that – fun.
A little time spent before any problems occur, rather than waiting until something goes wrong with your kart, is likely to save you a great deal of time and money. And being as you went hunting for go karts for sale to use and have fun with, it makes sense to look after it properly.…

• Go Kart Safety Features

A look at…Go Kart Safety Features

Whichever type of go karts for sale you’re looking to buy, ensure that it conforms to the relevant safety standards. For example, Berg Go Karts – a prolific and well respected manufacturer of go karts – pride themselves on the regular testing carried out by their own laboratories as well as by various independent bodies. This then gives the consumer the reassurance that the go kart they buy is of a high quality and able to withstand the rough and tumble that any go kart is sure to be put through. It goes without saying that for parents purchasing a go kart for their children then this is an essential requirement.

Regular Go Kart Maintenance

Because go karts have many moving parts this means it’s essential to keep them well maintained. The best of go kart manufacturers offer long warranty periods on their karts – typically up to five years – and will also have recommended specialists throughout the country who are authorized to carry out servicing and repairs on their products.
Of course, you can carry out basic maintenance issues yourself on both pedal and motorized karts. One piece of kit that’s pretty much essential for every go kart owner is a puncture repair kit. The nature of go karting – even if it’s just the kids playing on their karts in the back yard – means that your kart will, at some point, suffer from punctures.

Best Go Kart tires

The type of tires your go kart has will determine how you repair a puncture. If you have tires with inner tubes, then you can repair minor punctures with a simple puncture repair kit. This is fairly simple to do and is done in the same way as you would on a bicycle tire.
For those that don’t have inner tubes there are various options available to you. There are special items such as ‘nail hole repair patches,’ which are pretty self-explanatory. Another option is a product known as ‘tubeless tire repair cord.’ This is a popular option as it allows you to repair a tire without actually having to take the tire off the kart.
If you have an off road kart, then it’s possible to purchase specialized off road puncture repair kits.…

• Go Karts and Karting Safety

Whilst go karting is by its very nature a fun sport, there are certain steps that need to be taken to ensure that it remains safe for everyone involved. This, of course, becomes even more vital when kids and little ones are brought into the equation. In this situation it’s up to the adults to make sure that everyone remains as safe as possible. So, when you are looking for go karts for sale, exercise caution and good judgement.

Is Go Karting Dangerous?

Karting is in general a very safe sport. And this doesn’t matter if you’re talking about the kids using their pedal karts in the back yard, or high speed, motor powered go kart racing. Because go karts are very light, not to mention that today’s karts are built to rigorous safety standards, it means that using them simply requires a modicum of common sense to remain safe and to have a lot of fun.
Good quality go karts are built to rigorous safety standards. However, that doesn’t mean that you should just throw your child into a go kart and leave them to go pedaling away. There are some safety tips that both kids and adults should adhere to, so ensuring that what is meant to be fun doesn’t end up in a trip to the emergency room:

• Young children and go karts should never be left unsupervised.
• It’s advisable to keep boisterous family pets – such as the dog – locked away when the kids are playing on their go karts. Sure, the children wouldn’t mean to crash into the dog – and vice versa – but such things do happen and prevention is certainly better than the cure.
• Take care if allowing children to use go karts out on the street where there’s a chance of passing traffic.
• Remember that even a pedal go kart will get up a fair amount of speed if it’s allowed to free wheel downhill. This is especially important in the case of children using karts.
• If the case of motorized go kart racing, it’s interesting to note that there are rarely such features on racing karts such as seat belts or roll cages. This is because when racing the driver should always wear a helmet, safety suit, gloves, suitable footwear and various other safety equipment. If the worst happens and the kart turns over, the whole idea is that the driver is thrown out of the kart and his safety gear is what protects him (or her) from becoming scraped on the ground as this happens. This sounds far more dramatic than it really is, and considering how many people enjoy go kart racing on a regular basis very few serious accidents actually occur.

• More about Karting

Is it a Go Kart, or is it a Kart?

There’s no official distinction between a go kart and a kart, although some might argue differently. Those who take their karting seriously, and at racing level, would probably say that a ‘kart’ is a serious piece of racing equipment, whereas a ‘go kart’ is more of a fun machine. Either way, there is no right or wrong way to refer to either type of vehicle. But, when you are looking for
go karts for sale it’s important to keep that distinction in mind.

At what Age can I Start Karting?

This depends what you want from your go karting. For small kids then pedal carts to use on in the back yard are available whenever you think they’re ready to start having fun with them. But when it comes to motorized karts then you need to be a little more wary.
Most karting clubs have junior races – and these are likely to be for teenagers or even kids as young as eight or nine. But each child should be taken as an individual in this case – and of course club rules will also need to be adhered to. Adult races are normally open to those over the age of 16.

What if I’m a Little Heavy – Can I Still Enjoy Go Karting?

Weight and size might be an issue if you’re extremely large, but in general yes, of course you can still have fun karting. Do make sure that you check out the weight limits of any kart you might be considering purchasing first, as the last thing you want is to get your brand new kart home and realize that it’s not suitable.
For those who wish to race, there are usually minimum weight limits set for this. So lighter drivers will have to attach weights to their kart to come up to the necessary combined kart and driver weight level. However, once that weight is reached, there’s no maximum after that, and lighter drivers and karts will have an acceleration advantage over those who clock in at a heavier weight.…

• Go Karts – Facts and Tips for Karting Fun

Go karting is a sport that’s very much en-vogue right now. But, and let’s be serious about it, karting has never really gone out of fashion. After all, cast you mind back to when you were a kid, and here’s betting that you can remember at least one occasion where you grabbed a set of old wheels, fastened them to a plank or two of wood and set off on a journey that probably ended up in a jumbled heap somewhere…
Go karts have come a long way since then, and it’s now possible to find karts in all shapes and sizes, not to mention suiting all budgets. Karts range from the most simple of pedal versions for children, right through to serious (and high speed) motor powered karts that are a genuine stepping stone for those looking to get into motor racing.
Whichever type of go kart you use or are looking for, there are certain steps you can take to ensure that you get as much fun as possible from the experience.

Get the Correct Type of Kart

Now, when it comes to looking at go karts for sale for kids, most of us are pretty sensible and understand that they need to start off slowly. And if it’s for younger kids then it can be fun to buy a pedal go kart in the shape of something – like a fire truck, police car or even a beautiful pink limo for the girls.
However, when it comes to go karts for adults, it’s really easy to look at some of the beauties that are on the market and simply go for the best that money can buy. But beware, because some of these babies have serious horsepower and can reach some pretty hair raising speeds. When your butt’s only inches from the ground then a novice go karter and speed are not something that goes together well. So rather than just purchasing a meaty ‘big boy’s toy’ straight off, make sure that you buy a kart that suits your standard of ability.

What’s Karting all About?

Go karting is now a globally popular sport – be it pedal karting or motorized karting. For instance, many people use grass karts on hills and even mountainous regions – following tracks and racing against each other to see who can negotiate obstacles in the shortest amount of time.
Others race go karts on specially designed race tracks. This can be just for fun – and a sport that many people around the world enjoy on a weekend basis. This kind of motorized karting is available at all levels – from a fun level that doesn’t break the bank and is also a great social event, right through to those who race karts professionally. In fact, for those who have aspirations of moving up to the dizzy heights of Formula 1 racing, it’s now universally accepted that starting off with go karting is the way to go.
Still others have fun with pedal go karts. And many a happy child can be seen pedaling furiously up the street in their go kart – and it’s likely to be brightly colored, perhaps a red racing car or something similar.
Karting means a whole lot of different things to different people. And there is no right or wrong way to enjoy go karting. The most important thing is to do just that – enjoy it, at whatever level you wish.…
